Thinking of You

Condolence from:   Roger and Peggy Bahr
Our heartfelt prayers are with you Kent and your dear family. We did not have the honor to meet you but we have heard so many wonderful things about you. We feel that we can add you to the list of many brave and wonderful police officers we know. You will not be forgotten that we know for sure after seeing all the wonderful people that lined the the streets in Puyallup just for you. We stood across the street with our small grandson and looked across to the entire student body of Kalles Jr. High. You would have been so proud of all those young adults that came out in the rain to honor you and your family. Kent you have and will continue to touch many many lives. Our little grandson will not remember but we will tell him of your bravery and sacrifice and how proud of you and your fellow officers we are and always will be. God Bless you and your family.
Condolence from:   Terry Hochmuth

A few months ago, Deputy Mundell took a report and investigated a home burglary that occurred at our place along Webster Rd. Afterward he chatted about similar cases in the area and mentioned that after he and his wife had left a theater, they found that there car had been stolen from the parking lot. He appeared to be in no rush to leave and we chatted for awhile. After that, I felt that we were neighbors and friends. So much so that upon learning of his injuries, I wept and prayed for him and his family. Now I am very saddened and feel the loss of a good man.
May God bless and uphold his family, including the rest of the PC Sheriff's department, especially the Mountain Detachment.
Kent, you are already missed to a very large degree.
Thank you for your help.
Condolence from:   Suzanne Wolf

To the Mundell family,
Our hearts are heavy and we grieve with you. We met Kent on several occasions as he spoke to our daughter in our home, trying to encourage her, help her, redirect her from a disease that had stolen so much joy from her life. He was a professional, gentle, but firm in his approach.
May God lift you up in this time.
Condolence from:   Dan and Elsie Litzenberger
Our prayers and thoughts are for you and the family. May God keep you the hallow of His Hand.

This letter was emailed to me the day I lost my Mother and because of my faith I knew she was with my Father now. I hope this will give you a tiny bit of peace.

To my dearest family and friends some things I’d like to say.
But first of all to let you know, that I arrived okay.

I’m writing this from heaven, where I dwell with God above.
There are no more tears of sadness, there is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I’m out of sight.
Remember that I’m with you every morning and night.

That day I had to leave you, when my life on Earth was through.
God picked me up and hugged me and said, “I welcome you.”
As for your friends and family, they’ll be here later on.

God said “I need you here badly, you’re part of my plan.
There is so much that we have to do to help our mortal man.”

God gave me a list of things that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.

And when you lie in bed at night, the day’s chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you…..in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years.
Because you’re only human, they are bound to bring you tears.

But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all what God has planned. If I were to tell you,
you wouldn’t understand. But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is over. I’m closer to you now, than I ever was before.

When you’re walking down the street and you’ve got me on your mind,
I’m walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

There are many rocky roads ahead for you and many hills to climb,
but together we can do it, taking one day at a time.

And when it’s time for you to go…..from your body to be free.
Remember your not going….you’re coming here to me.

Dear Lisa and kids,

Many years ago, Scott worked with Kent at Princeton. For over a year Kent got off of graveyard shift and then worked several hours during the day helping start our contracting business. I will always remember when Kent learned how to do a sink repair... all of my makeup was melted by the time Scott and Kent left the bathroom sink area, they had used a heat gun, and not noticed everything they were aiming it at. It was so funny, seeing the look on their faces, when they realized what they had done. Kent always had a smile on his face and a willingness to help others. He will be missed by all that knew him.
I wasn't privileged to know your husband, but I do know many of the deputies at the South Hill Headquarters. The men and women who protect us everyday need our support and respect.
My heart is broken for you and your family, and may God give you strength in your time of need.
Please know there are many in the community who do value and respect what your husband and many others do each and everyday, God Bless the Mundell family, and God Bless and keep Kent Mundell.

Bob & Pat Stuczynski
GOD BLESS YOUR WONDERFUL FAMILY. THEIR ARE SPECIAL PLACES IN HEAVEN FOR POLICE OFFICERS THAT ARE KILLED PROTECTING ALL OF US.

Condolence from:   Vaughan Amende
I would like to express my heartfelt condolences to the family of Deputy Kent Mundell. I'm so sorry for your loss. What a difficult time it is when we lose a loved one in death. Kent's kindness and devotion to the community was much appreciated. Deputy Mundell will be greatly missed. How we appreciate the sacrifices and the risks our sheriffs make in our behalf. To help us cope with our loss, God's Word gives us comfort. Revelation 21:4 says, "And he (God) will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will morning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." We look forward to this time when God's promise is, no more pain, suffering, or death.

Again, my deepest sympathies to the family of Deputy Kent Mundell.

Sincerely,

Vaughan Amende

We are so sorry for your loss. Kent was so engaging and friendly, it was always so much fun talking with him. We admire the way that he made sure to give the kids his full attention, whether it was cheering them on during practice or a game, or simply listening to them. That is something seen so rarely these days, and it was truly heartwarming and inspirational.
He was a true hero in every sense of the word. May God bless and comfort your family.

My hear goes out to Kent's family and friends. He has always been just of wonderful spirits. We went to Aylen JR. High together and he sure was a popular student and I was not so. Kent always had nice things to say to me and would talk to me which for a lot of days it made it okay to go through the day's who he was live on for always.
I am so sorry for all of our miss fortune to have to say good by to another outstanding person. For keeping us all safe, sorry we couldn't keep you safe. We are so sorry to his family. We give you much love and support. Best Wishes,

It seems that the light at LA Fitness has dimmed appreciatively. Kent was always so kind and encouraging to me over the years since I first met him at PAC. In every conversation he managed to find a way to mention his kids. I also knew there was a good chance he would be the first responder if I had to call in an issue from my neighborhood. When that happened I learned that he was a bulldog while still being kind and considerate.
The future is always difficult to view from here. Please believe that the groundwork he provided will find a way to sustain all of you.
Our deepest & heartfelt condolences go out to the Mundell family. We are very blessed to have known such a brave & courageous Officer. He touched our hearts in a very special way & are very thankful for keeping our community safe. Kent two thumbs up Buddy & enjoy your flight with the Angels.
Condolence from:   Malinda & Family
You will always be remembered.
Thank you for protecting our community.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Mundell family at this time and may you cherish all the good times you had. We didn't know officer Mundell. but probably passed his car at the bakery on our way through Eatonville. We hope that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and no other officer will lose their life in a senseless killing! Peace be with you. Chuck & Jan Anderson, Packwood, Wa.

To the Mundell family,
My mom, Dolores Rupp and I, Terri (Rupp) Sichmeller would like to offer our heartfelt condolences to you at this time of sorrow. I (Terri) have learned in my lifetime and of experiencing the death of my son, that the sorrow will diminish in time and you will be left with a lifetime of warm and loving memories of Kent. The outpour of support we pray will help you on this journey.
Our prayers & hearts go out to the Mundell family. May God watch over you in the days to come and give you strength.
It is with a deep sense of sadness that we send our condolences to you, Lisa and family. I retired before Kent started with Pierce County, but want you to know, through this tragedy, we have come to know who Kent was and what a huge void this leaves for you and all of your family, as well as the police officers and friends for the rest of their lives. Please know we will be praying for you daily and may GOD give you peace and rest knowing so many have you in thought and prayer.
To Lisa and family,
I can offer nothing more to you and your family than the kindness and friendship Kent gave to my family. If you need anything please call.
A hero...who, in the face of danger and adversity or from a position of weakness, displays courage and the will for self sacrifice...

Officer Mundell was a true hero. Our deepest sympathy to his family, friends and coworkers. Know this hero will continue to watch over you forever. God Bless Officer Kent Mundell.

To the Mundell Family

We may never know the depth of your sorrow or the full extent of your pain but I can assure you, each one of us who share his uniform will continue to go out into the night, to face and defeat the evil that lurks in the shadows on his behalf. We will each, draw strength from his memory, and kindness from his heart. We will prevail for him, and because of him, for each of us is a better person for having simply met him.
May god bless each of you in this most difficult time.
I am sorry for your lost. I just lost my mother on Thanksgiving day and I am still trying to get control my crying. Everyone keeps telling me that the Holidays are the hardest but it will get better. But I think is they are right about the Holidays and yea it will get better but you will never forgot them. In your heart they will always be there. I have found this poem on the net. I read it on my mom's. I hope you like it:

I Am Always With You

When I am gone, release me, let me go.
I have so many things to see and do,
You mustn't tie yourself to me with too many tears,
But be thankful we had so many good years.
I gave you my love, and you can only guess
How much you've given me in happiness.
I thank you for the love that you have shown,
But now it is time I traveled on alone.
So grieve for me a while, if grieve you must
Then let your grief be comforted by trust
That it is only for a while that we must part,
So treasure the memories within your heart
I won't be far away for life goes on.
And if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can't see or touch me, I will be near
And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear
All my love around you soft and clear
And then, when you come this way alone,
I'll greet you with a smile and a "Welcome Home".

And again I am very sorry for your lost.

Mundell Family,
Please accept my heartfelt sympathies. There are no words that can be said to ease the pain. I went to High School with Kent and will always remember him for his smile and his very easy going attitude. He made a difference in this world. He will be missed.
Condolence from:   John Kainoa <kjkainoa@comcast.net>
I worked out with Kent both at PAC and then at LA Fitness, although he made it in the gym more often than I did! It was always good to see his face and to catch up with him. I was selling Real Estate for most of that time so he would often talk about his mom, since she sold real estate as well. He would also talk about not getting his boat out as much as he wanted to, among other things, and of course, he would always talk about taking his kids to all of the BMX events! It was obvious to me how much his family meant to him. I ran into him down in Sumner this past summer at the BMX track. I remember his daughter saying "Dad, you know someone everywhere we go"! THAT TO ME is a testimony to who Kent was. He had such a great personality and could talk to and be a friend to anyone. I will truly miss him, and our talks, as will so many others. My heart goes out to his family.....John
I pray for strength and peace to your family through this time and years to come. I would like to thank you for sharing Officer Mundell with the rest of us. God Bless you and keep you strong.

To the Mundell Family

My thoughts are with all of you, I worked with Deputy Mundell at REG Longston Place 14, we shared lots of stories, such as the time when he would be so proud of his family and children, his son going BMX racing. his daughter getting older, his wife getting the dispatch job near Federal Way. One of my favorite stories was what he was going to do to his neighbors when they go on vacation. I'm sure he will have a pink flamingo near by. With my thoughts to the family, Deputy Mundell will truly be missed, however never forgotten.
