Mary Jean Vote
November 13, 1921 - July 15, 2012

Mary Jean Vote, at age 90, beloved wife, mother, grandma, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully to join her husband Clarence on July 15, 2012. Mary Jean was raised on a ranch near Cokeville, WY by her Basque father, Dominique, and her Spanish mother, Claudia with seven siblings, René, Theresa, Jessie, Pete, Johnny, and Bob. After receiving her degree in nursing, Mary Jean joined the Army and proudly served her country during WWII. It was in the hospital at Fort Lewis where she met and married her husband Clarence, an injured Captain back from Europe. They built a lovely home in Lakewood, WA and raised two children, Larry and Jacqueline.

Mary Jean was a great cook, gardener, neighbor, and caregiver; her warmth, character, and tiger cookies will be missed by all who knew her. Mary Jean is survived by her son Larry of St. Mary's City, MD and daughter Jacqueline of Mercer Island, WA, four grandchildren, Dominic, Micah, Olivia, and Matthew, and sister, Theresa.
