Obituary for
James Lyle Jorgenson
James L. Jorgenson passed away January 10, 2013, surrounded by his family.
He was born in the family home on November 23, 1926, to Raymond and Ruth Jorgenson of Tacoma.
He is survived by his sister, Dorothy Box, of Bellevue, WA, and his brother, Charles E. Jorgenson, of Puyallup, WA. He was preceded in death by his wife, of 42 year,s Lila Jean Jorgenson. They lived in Puyallup where they raised their family.
Jim graduated from Stadium High School – joined the Navy at the end of WWII and served into the Korean War where he worked on an Aircraft carrier. The Navy cultivated his love for the water, after serving he continued to enjoy water activities, sailing and fishing.
Jim worked as an auto mechanic, after completing the auto repair course at Bates Technical. He retired from Tacoma City Light where he worked 30 years building and repairing transformers.
The family wants to express their deep appreciation to Heartwood. The caring staff and volunteers were so kind and professional.
At his request there will be no public service.
