Elsie J. Schalchlin Elsie, a longtime resident of Fife and a member of Grace Lutheran Church, was born June 23, 1919 and died February 5, 2013.

She enjoyed her employment at Foster and Kleiser Advertising and at Pierce County. In earlier years, she was an active member of the Vida Chapter of Eastern Star. She enjoyed gardening and always knitted and crocheted items for her family and friends. She lovingly cared for her mother, Edna, for many years.

Survivors include her cousins, JoAnn (Bob) Hegseth of Arizona, Ed (Kay) Haarmann of Gig Harbor, and Ed Schalchlin of Australia, and numerous other relatives.

Many thanks to the caregivers at Manor Care, Tacoma for their loving care of Elsie these past five years.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, February 15, 2013 in the Mountain View Garden Chapel, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood, WA.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Grace Lutheran Church, 6202 S. Tyler St., Tacoma, WA 98409 or to a charity of your choice .
