Obituary for Marlys Junkley

Kitty wasn't your ordinary woman. She lived life to the fullest, got what she wanted, and wouldn't let anything or anyone stand in her way. She was the queen of sassy, but had a big heart. Born March 8, 1937 in Twin Valley, Minnesota, then later moved to Tacoma with her family in 1942. Married once or twice, then finally settled with Mr. Alvin C. Junkley, and they moved out in what used to be called the boonies in 1978. If you knew Miss Kitty, you knew she would not leave her house without her red lipstick on, her outrageous fancy outfits, the numerous little poodles, and a backyard paradise full of flowers. She was loved by many but also disapproved by some. She was a woman you'd never forget. She passed away on Feb. 18, 2013, just before her 76th birthday.

She is survived by her animals Angel and Tipsy, granddaughter Niki Housiaux (Tony Waite), her sister Phillis Strobell (George Strobell) and family, grandson Sean Housiaux (Cheri Kern), two great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law Paula Kiely, friends Sam Bartley, Chris Nevaras and family, Ada Mae, and Muriel Danisher, and many more. Her ashes will be at Mountain View Funeral home next to her son Dean Housiaux. There will be a private service. For information on when and where please contact Niki at (253)537-8730.
