Obituary for Aina Johnson

Aina  Johnson
Aina Olivia Johnson, a long-time resident of Tacoma, passed away on March 2, 2013.

Aina was born in Yakima, Washington, on June 14, 1920, to Olaf and Anna Nyberg. Her family moved to Seattle when she attended school and graduated from Ballard High School.

Aina worked for Pope and Talbot Lumber Company until she met and married her husband, Gunnar F. Johnson. Over the years, she also worked as a cook in the Tacoma Public School System and worked for the University of Puget Sound and Pierce County libraries.

Aina enjoyed sewing, knitting, cooking and baking for her family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband and took many trips to Sweden, to visit family. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.

Aina is survived by her son, Charles and his wife, Linda Johnson, daughter, Elinor and her husband, Walter Butcher, daughter, Karin Shough, and six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Aina was preceded in death by her husband, Gunnar, her brother, Herbert Nyberg, sister, Bertha Nyberg and sister, Margaret Wimberley.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 9, 2013, 3:00PM at Mountain View Funeral Home, Lakewood, WA.
